A timeless, precious moment passes spontaneously, candidly. A passing glimpse, a cheeky grin on the face of a child, a blushing bride; these moments cannot be created, only captured. Thea's talent and passion lies in capturing those moments and preserving them for posterity.
In Thea's state-of-the-art digital studio, her proficient use of studio lighting enables her to literally 'paint with light'. However, as an alternative to the studio portrait, clients may choose to have their portrait done in a natural environment such as the beach, park, or their own backyard. Thea believes that children's portraits look best when they are not posed, and working outdoors lends itself to images that show a child's true personality.
Clients can expect an initial consultation so that she can assist them in designing a special session that is unique to their personality. When it comes to working with children, Thea has a soothing, friendly approach. A mother of two restless boys, she understands the frustration of having to wait around with your child, hoping that their picture is taken before they get too restless. She believes that your experience in the studio should be stress-free and that is why you will be the only portrait client on the day of your session so that all of her abundant creativity and energy is available to you.
Thea's Photoshop skills enable her to do touch-ups for things like blemishes, wrinkles, teeth whitening or any slight imperfections. She has also had intensive training and experience in the use of computer art software, which allows her to digitally render any photograph, taken by her or provided by the client, as an heirloom quality oil painting. These paintings are printed on canvas, custom framed, and displayed in homes and offices as artistic pieces. Today, most of her time is spent on commissioned painted portraits of individuals and families.
Thea is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Seton Hall University. She studied psychology at Georgian Court College and then continued on to Brookdale Community College and the International Center for Photography in New York where she studied photography, lighting and Adobe Photoshop and continues to take classes to learn and grow as an artist.
